Original World War II Iwo Jima trench art casting in aluminum, depicting the island and Mt. Suribachi. These castings were made shortly after the battle by service members stationed on Iwo Jima, using aluminum salvaged from downed Japanese aircraft and later American planes once Japanese material was no longer available. Created as personal souvenirs, they are rare examples of wartime trench art commemorating service on the island.
