WWII U.S. Army Combat Medic Badge & Original Photos

This is an original WW2 U.S. Army combat medic “grouping” consisting of a Combat Medic Badge (CMB) and six period snapshot photographs showing the medic in uniform during his service along with one of a couple of artillery men. 3 of the photos clearly depict him wearing his M1 helmet with medic panels applied as well as a medic arm band.

The Combat Medical Badge was awarded to Army medical personnel who served alongside infantry units while actively engaged in ground combat. Instituted in 1945, the badge recognized the hazardous duty performed by combat medics while treating and evacuating wounded soldiers under enemy fire.
